Digital Service Design: Seven Principles for Success

A recent survey suggests that Local government expects to deliver more than two-thirds of services online by 2019, as cited by LocalGov. It showed that digital self-service in local government is expected to grow by 120% within the next three years, and that two-thirds of councils surveyed already have a digital self-service strategy in place, delivering expected savings of an average £900,000 in the next 12 months. 

Authorities need practical plan for designing and implementing digital services to avoid getting left behind.  Seven principles have emerged that if applied at every stage of the design and implementation process should radically improve the chances of success.
