The CIPFA Finance and General Estimates for 2011-12 in England have now been released and are available to internet subscribers here.

Overall Total Service Expenditure spending by local authorities in England has fallen this year by 5.7% to just over £99.5 billion compared with 2010-11. This is the first fall in spending since Council Tax was introduced in the early 1990s. These statistics represent the main source of local authority level budget estimates data from RA11 returns.
